As we set our sights upon the upcoming election cycle with Municipal Elections slated for April 13th, a Primary Election on August 24th and the General Election on November 2nd to include Federal, State and local races, we have much to do in order to ensure another successful election season. This election year will be historic, as for the first time, every seat on the Florida Cabinet will be open (Governor, Agricultural Commissioner, Attorney General and Chief Financial Officer). Also, there is an open United States Senate seat and all congressional seats are up for re-election. This is of course in addition to state legislative races, county commission, and school board races. Additionally, there are already four proposed constitutional amendments, which will have an impact on all Florida. Furthermore, Mr. Corley will address the impact of independents in elections, voting laws and importance of voting are among some of the topics he will address. The Wesley Chapel Republican Club meets the second Thursday of each month, at 7:00pm and as always welcomes new members and guests. Senator Victor Crist Town Hall Meeting
Tuesday, February 23. 6:30pm. Senator Victor Crist Town Hall Meeting @ the theater of the Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road.

Seeking input on how state government can more efficiently meet citizens’ needs, State Senator Victor Crist (R-Tampa) will join residents throughout Hillsborough and Pasco Counties next week for two open-forum style town hall meetings. The first meeting will be co-hosted by State Representative Kevin Ambler (R-Tampa). Prepared to address hot-button topics such as economic development, public safety, health care and transportation, Crist announced the meetings today as the final two in a series of informal gatherings that he has organized this year to give residents the chance to discuss issues and share ideas with their elected officials.
“Town hall meetings are a great opportunity for local residents to openly examine the issues and challenges facing their community”, explained Senator Victor Crist, “we’ll be leaving the discussions open so that everyone has a chance to participate”. Senator Crist also noted that the meetings will not adjourn until all in attendance have had a chance to speak. When asked about the impact of town hall meetings on the priorities of state officials, Representative Ambler added, “Our constituents are making tough decisions in their daily lives due to the current economic climate, and hearing directly from them enhances our ability to advocate on their behalf, and it ensures that our priorities address their needs”. The first meeting will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, February 23rd in the theater of the Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road. The second meeting will take place at 6:30pm on Wednesday, February 24th in the performing arts center of Wesley Chapel High School, 30651 Wells Road, Wesley Chapel. Both meetings are free and open to the public.
For planning purposes, those planning to attend are encouraged—but not required—to contact Jennifer Wilson by email at Wilson.jennifer.S12@flsenate.gov, or by telephone at 813-975-6658.
